Vancouver Whitecaps FC recorded their first-ever win on the African continent following a 2-1 victory over Tanzanian Premier League outfit Simba Sports Club on Thursday afternoon.

They frantically huddle with head coach Teitur Thordarson and assistant coach Todd Wawrousek, wondering if they have enough boots to leave when the scrimmage is over. Wawrousek declares, through Swahili translator and Canadian embassy education section staffer Corey Huntington, that they will send boots when they return to Vancouver. The boys smile and clap.
