Crystal Palace FC USA’s clash with local rivals Real Maryland is more than just a league game that Palace need to win to sustain their hopes of a top spot in the standings. The match, which takes place at 7:30pm on Thursday night at UMBC Stadium, will also determine the winner of the inaugural DeOrsey Maryland Cup. Palace has the advantage after winnint the first game of the series 2-1 at the Maryland Soccerplex back in June.

Palace will be missing two key players through suspension; top scorer Gary Brooks and midfield leader Shintaro Harada. Meanwhile, after being out due to injury for the past two months, Alex Ughiovhe has just learned he probably won’t play again this season. “We hope he can get treated as well as possible and get ready for next season,” said Jim Cherneski.
