ST PAUL, Minn. (June 24, 2007) - The Minnesota Thunder secured their first home win of the season against the California Victory Sunday night. The Thunder scored early in the first half and held the Victory scoreless until the end of the game.

The game started out on the right foot for the Thunder, with Derek Smith scoring right in the 5th minute. A throw in from defender Kevin Friedland came to the head of Keisuke Ota. Ota headed the ball to Smith who hit the ball past AC Milan keeper Daniel Offredi. The Thunder held that lead until late in the second half.
