Gardner started and finished the play, winning the ball in midfield before eventually playing it ahead to Roger Levesque, who back-heeled it to Le Toux before slipping it square for Gardner on his left. He fired a left-footer into the bottom right corner.

7' 0-2 - Sebastien Le Toux (John Fishbaugher)
Seattle broke out quickly after a Vancouver corner kick, with Le Toux playing it to Josh Gardner, who fired it ahead to Fishbaugher. He redirected it to Le Toux, who had continued his run up the left. With no offside decision, the striker broke in on goal and slipped it between the legs of Whitecaps goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic.
