Vancouver Whitecaps closed out their regular season home schedule the exact same way they started it back in April, with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Canadian rivals Montreal Impact in front of a sold out crowd of 5,288 on Saturday evening.

Whitecaps player awards were announced just before the game, with Eduardo Sebrango claiming the Most Valuable Player, the Domenic Mobilio Golden Boot as top scorer, the Fan Favourite Award, and the Blue & White Award for outstanding team spirit and community involvement. Nolly was named Defender of the Year, while Newcomer of the Year went to Japanese defender Takashi Hirano.

Whitecaps coach Teitur Thordarson had to juggle his defensive formation in this game, with Omar Jarun suspended for three games, and Takashi Hirano sidelined by injury. Geordie Lyall started at central defence in place of Jarun, while Steve Kindel dropped to left back, filling Hirano's spot. 17-year-old Ethan Gage came into midfield for Kindel, becoming the first player from Whitecaps Residency program to start in a USL-1 game for the men's team.
